Not Charging

For some reason my Dell XPS 9550 will go through stages where it will act normal but all of sudden it will say "0% plugged in, charging" but it doesn't charge. I've tried many differeny things but it seems to be a hardware issue. Read it could be the motherboard.

    Hi Electricsoap

    Thanks for writing to us.

When did the issue start? Was there any hardware or software changes done recently?

Could you please let us know what steps you tried so far.

Please go to BIOS and check the status of AC adapter and also the battery health.

If possible please try a different battery and/or charger and observe if the symptoms are still the same.

If you wiggle the charger holding near to the laptop does it makes any difference?

Do provide us your system tag#, email address and name via private message,by clicking on my name in blue and then select send a private message

    Regards

Pretty much started within a few weeks of me getting it back in June. Was ordered in April or March but hadn't been ordered yet. The hardware has not been touched and already did a windows restart thinking it was a software issue but it wasn't. I have tried turning on and off the different BIOS options that I read online about this laptops battery, they didn't do anything so I ended doing the windows reset after that and the bios settings are currently just default. Can't change the battery since it isn't removable without unscrewing things and don't have a second battery or charger. There are no signs of damage on the charger or the port on the laptop, and the wire lights up at the end as well. Wiggling the charger has no affect.

EDIT: The BIOS says that the battery health is excellent and says the adapter is charging. It is currently charging correctly but earlier today it wouldn't.
