You can use a USB port replicator.

Would it be possible to be more specific?  I can't figure out exactly what I need for a port replicator for the Inspiron 9100.  Is there something Dell sells that will definitely work?  Is there some generic thing I can get anywhere?  Thanks.

You can buy a port replicator from CompUSA or Circuit City that will work. The one's they usually sell are Keyspan and Targus. Either one of those should work.
