Possible solution to battery recharging issue

Ok, it seems that a large number of people are having this fauly motherboard issue (adapter not recognized and inability to recharge battery).

I have been thinking... instead of replacing the motherboard with another "faulty" motherboard that will most likely go bad again, why not just buy an external battery charger?

I have been thinking about this for a while, but the problem is I have not been able to find an external charger up to this date. Anyone has any better luck than me?

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Wow--I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with the motherboard being faulty! I hope there is a charger out there that you are talking about!!

Only a few of the older Latitudes had an external charger option - the newer ones and the Inspirons do not.

I am also having a faulty motherboard issue.
I know other people are too, and I feel like its time Dell should do something about it! It is unfair to have people pay near $500 for an issue of poor construction on their part, not on neglect.
