power

everytime i leave my inspiron 6000 for a little while, the it pretty much shuts down and just goes to the user page that you see when you turn on your computer. it also closes my instant messenger. is there anyway that i could stop this from happening?

    Right Click on your desktop somewhere where theres no icons or files and then left click Properties
     
    At the top of the window you will see Screen Saver, click on that and then click Power at the bottom of the window.......
     
    You should see energy saving options like Hibernate after 10 min or something like that......just change that setting to like a half hour or hour or something.........
     
    If you cant find those options that way goto your Control Panel in the Start menu and then Power Options and change the settings from there
