precision m6800 turns itself on
Greetings,
When I try to shut down my precision m6800 it ends up restarting itself. After the led in the power button goes down, it gets lit again in the following 3-4 seconds and the laptop then turns on. Same thing happens if hibernate option is selected. If sleep option is selected the laptop loses power and restarts again. It does not matter whether the laptop is on battery or using the power supply.
The things I have checked can be listed as:
1) It is not due to scheduled events, I have none.
2) It is not due to any network device, magic packets, waking on options are disabled. (Verified using powercfg /lastwake nothing wakes up the laptop) both in windows (8.1 pro) and BIOS.
3) In fact all network devices/ wireless devices are disabled in BIOS
4) In the power options of BIOS ,"do nothing" is the selected action upon power loss.
5) Dell supportassist could not diagnose any problems upon full system check.
6) The problem persists even if I remove my SSDs and run Ubuntu on a thumbdrive
What could be the reason of such a behavior? Is there any data to be collected which may come handy in determining the problem?
Looking forward for your support
