Problems with video driver
So sorry if this has been asked before but i'm having lots of problems with my inspiron 5100 laptop. I've gotten the blue screen of death a few times and it has always said there is an error with a file called ati2dvag.
I didn't know what this meant until today. While using windows media player, twice i got error messages saying something about error with video driver and the screen went weird. It was zoomed in on the top left hand side and the colours were distorted. It also said something about ati2dvag.
On trying to restart i had some problems. First, the screen stayed black. The second time it just switched itself off again. And the third time i got the blue screen again. Then it finally worked after i got a screen which gave me some options. I chose start windows as usual.
I chose to send an error report to microsoft when prompted at start up. I got this page:
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/response.aspx?SGD=47c0cd33-04c3-45fc-b75d-2de9b154ec06&SID=683
which basically said error with video driver and said to try dell's site.
Now i'm wondering what to do. Should i download a new driver? Is there any point in running diagnostics, which is what i was going to do?
Another point: these problems only seem to start when the computer is not plugged into the mains. Not sure if that means anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
