Processor replacement

Hey,

I have the Dell Inspiron N5110 laptop.
In the future I would like to replace my existing processor Intel Core i3 (x2 cores) with Intel Core i7 (x4 cores).
Is it technically possible? And what problems can be caused by doing it?

Thanks,
Arthur.

It is highly unlikely an i7 will work, since the systems don't ship with anything higher than an i5.

Upgrading the CPU will void your warranty, if that's a consideration - and you're likely to find that even an i5 will cost several hundred dollars - likely a significant percentage of the initial system cost.
