Random Pink Snow on screen
My inspiron e1505 has suddenly started putting random pink snow, or static on the screen. Photos will have specks of pink, and it appears that they show up where the original color would have been a white/gray or light color. Some windows are fine, other mostly photos or video have them. No specific location, random as the video plays or in certain areas of photos. Does anyone know what the problem maybe? Like I said, it is almost like the LCD is reading a whiteish/gray as pink. Thanks for any help

No, it does not seem to appear on an external monitor.Run the LCD built in self test (bist). With the system off, press and hold 'D' and then power it on. You should get several solid color screens. Check to see if you get pink snow on any of those screens too. The LCD BIST recieves the signal from a chip on the LCD instead of from the video card.
If it looks ok, run the 32 bit Dell Diagnostics on the Video hardware and video memory. To do this, initiate the PSAs. With the system off, press and hold the Function key (Fn) and power on while holding it down. After the PSAs have finished you'll get the options to boot to the 32 bit diagnostics. If you get the options Test Memory, Test System or Exit, go to Test System. If it asks if you'd like to run the remaining memory tests, hit no. Once in the 32 bit diags you should have four options: Express Tests, Exended Tests, Custom Tests, Symptom Tree. Go to custom tests. Expand the video & then expand the VGA whatever. You should then be able to run the video memory and video hardware tests.

all the test showed pass. right now the pink has gone, all but one little area near the bottom of the screen. None of my photos right now are showing the pink snow, but as soon as it goes away it can return it seems
