Shut Down / Standby Issues
I am not sure if this message belongs here...
Sometimes, when I shut down my E1505, the machine does not turn off. It goes through the process of shutdown, but continues to say "please wait while your computer shuts down." I wait several minutes (I know it should not take this long, and the CPU is not running).I have to hold the power button down for a few seconds so it will turn off.
Also,
Sometimes when I try to put it into standby it will either:
1. work fine
2. go into standby, but the lights stay on and i believe the fan does too,
3. do nothing.
There are times when I turn it back on from standby and anything connected to USB will not work (I'm pretty sure it happens with anything connected, but I usually only notice my wireless mouse).
Not sure if these problems are all related or not. These problems do NOT occur all the time, and I haven't figured out if I am doing something wrong that causes this.

I suspect your standby problems are completely different. It sounds like you have some device driver that doesn't want the machine to enter standby. I would check for BIOS and driver updates. I would also try it without any peripherals (like the wireless mouse) to see if they are the problems.
