Studio 1537 Webcam problems, PLEASE HELP!

I have a Studio 1537 and have had it for almost a year and have always had minor issues with the Webcam.  Upgraded to Windows 7 in January and Dell Webcam is not compatible with Win7.  I need to use my webcam with gmail and it doesnt want to work.  I have uninstalled Dell Webcam and am wondering do I need to install another version or what the solution is.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks!!

    mikeea10,

I cannot remember if I installed the webcam from the disk that came with the computer

    or

If I went to Drivers & Downloads entered my service tag number and downloaded the Vista drivers and installed them in the compatibility mode.

Right click on the drivers file, left click properties, left click compatibility. Change the compatibility to Vista. Then right click on the drivers, left click run as administrator.

Thanks Rick, I did what you said, and there was no difference.  So after poking around on the google site, I found some more information to follow.  FYI: google's help section is not very clear to navigate.

Anyway, once I disabled the fast access face recognition software, I was able to get the camera to operate in gmail.

    Thanks,

    Mike

No software Dell Webcam Center (its noobware, you can work without it) but you can still get your webcam working. Here's how to get Studio 15 webcam working with Windows 7

    regards,
