VERY VERY LOW FPS
For some reason i am getting very very low FPS on my 3 day old 9100 .
My specs:
Dell Inspiron 9100
P4 HT 2.80GHZ
15.4 WXGA
Windows XP Home
512MB, 400MHz, 2DIMM
128MB DDR Ati Radeon 9700 AGP 8X
60GB 7200RPM Hard Drive
I ran http://benchemall.com/ and here are the specs i got:
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 1 (2600.xpsp2.031208-2000)
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 512MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0b (4.09.0000.0902)
Card name: ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600/9700 Series (Omega 2.5.51)
Driver Version: 6.14.0010.6451 (English)

Max details settings.
1024x768 45.99 fps botmatch (dm-rankin: 64.32 fps, as-convoy: 27.48 fps, br-colossus: 46.16 fps )
I have the recent everything and i am getting lower fps than people on 8600's
I contacted Dell and they were no help to me, i told them that i have compared these fps on other 9100's that had 2x better fps than me with the same specs and all they said is that if i had the latest drivers and bios there is nothing they can do.
ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I did a FULL reformat, deleted all partions, blank hard drive, then installed windows.
I also reinstalled all of my drivers and bios.
I also tried it without the battery to see if it is the PowerPlay.

Sounds like an ID 10 T Error to me if other users of 9100's are getting double the FPS with the EXACT same settings.CatoftheNight

There's a Format done with the Windows XP disk, then there's a low-level reformat. Boot to an MS-DOS bootable diskette and use the "fdisk" command with the "/s" argument.

Note that low level format and fdisk are different things, and neither gain you ANYTHING in this case over a standard reformat.Kyle Cassidy

That doesnt matter.
As long as everything on the hdd is gone either way its gone.
For those of you that think its because im using a p4!!!
Please read this for other peoples fps using the exact same video card.

I have contacted dell via phone 2 times and via chat 1 time.
I am on hold with them now and am going to ask for a video/graphics specialist on the 9100.

To be sure it wasnt windows i did a complete reformat and am still getting no higher than 50fps.
