I don't see why not. According to the Service Manual, it appears to use an mPCIe card (not M.2!!), and it has 2 antennas, so a 2x2 802.11ac card should do just fine. When I've previously upgraded WiFi cards on other models, at worst I just ended up with the WiFi indicator LED behaving differently. On the original card, it was either solid green when the radio was on or off when the radio was off; with the newer card, it blinked when the card was transmitting or receiving. I didn't care.
