XPS13 - Windows 8.1 - Constant 'Repairing Disk Errors'
Hello, recently updated this 4 or 5 month old Dell XPS13 with the recommended Windows 8.1 update. Since, I've been updating a few drivers as 'My Dell' recommends because it was noticeably not functioning as well as it was (trackpad stopped supporting two fingers, brightness changing itself).
Now, I opened the screen and it was blank - black screen. I had to hard reboot after nothing back from it for a while. On boot it then said it was analysing and diagnosing. Then went to 'Repairing disk errors. This may take over an hour to complete'. Since I have:-
- I left it at least 2 hours then felt it was unusually long. I stopped the laptop and started to F12 boot.
- Tried diagnostics, which was clear. Then thorough diagnostics, which was also clear. Hard drive reported fine.
- I've rebooted and got to a diagnosis and then a screen which said it was 'Scanning and Repairing (C:) drive'. It got stuck at 58% and after 30-40minutes I rebooted and skipped the scan - it went to a black screen as I've seen before.
I eventually rebooted and haven't got further with several tries around the same things.
Please, please help.
