Not true my friend, not true.....First, Here is a twist.....At one time, all Dell branded monitors were warranted for three years. Than Dell changed that to what ever length warranty on your system. If your system had a warranty for one year, than the monitor was for one year. If you bought the monitor separately, than the warranty would be for three years. NOW, I have heard that all dell branded monitors, purchase with or without the system, have a warranty for three years. Kind of mind boggling isn't it ? Call another tech support personnel and try to get a Dell Moderator to find out the skinny on this.
My Dell branded monitor, listed below was purchased separately and it has a 3 year warranty....The Dell tech support person was and is wrong. One of the links above show its from Price grabber and is not a Dell site, therefore it shows only a one year warranty. The other link shows a monitor that is refurbished, and not new, which would account for the limited warranty and not the full 3 years...
To go one further. I called Dell tech support sometime ago and asked how long of a warranty did I have on my monitor and was told one year only. The Dell moderator also confirmed this one year warranty, than later that sameday, the Moderator came back on the forum and corrected the mistake and stated the monitor from Dell had a 3 year warranty...Just because the tech support personnel stated it was, does not mean it is. They do make mistakes, as I do from time to time. :smileywink:

Currently Dell says that monitors carry either a 3 year warranty or the length of the warranty on the system it is attached to, which ever is longer. They have been known to change their warranty coverages from time to time so the coverage when you bought your monitor could be different.
