2407wfp, PS3 & 1080p, does it work?

I am very tempted to buy a 2407wfp this week which i would like to use with a PS3 however i keep coming across conflicting information regard compatibility especially where HDCP is concerned.

I would be grateful if anybody can confirm that both games and blueray movies will output at 1080p to this monitor without any problems.

Thanks!

If you use HDMI and get an HDMI to DVI converter, you can use your PS3 in full 1080p HD on a 2407FPW.

Ok, thanks, but then how do you handle the audio out?

    Yes I am.

about 4 months ago i purchased a Belkin PureAV HDMI to DVI cable from compusa for my digital HD cable box to my Sony HD LCD tv.

When my PS3 showed up I decided to to try out this cable before I went out and purchased something much cheaper online.

I had ZERO problems hooking up my PS3 to 2407wfp with this cable.

Side by side the PS3 version of Ridge Racer 7 running in 1080p looks alot nicer than the Xbox360 version of Ridge Racer 6 which is running also running in 1080p but i believe it's being upscaled.

I have my Xbox360 via VGA cable and PS3 hooked up to my 2407wfp and both work great. I'm using a rather pricey HDMI to DVI connector made by PureAV for the PS3.

I have a Creative Labs X-FI sound card in my pc that has a optical in on it and thats what i use for my sound. So my PC needs to be on when i'm gaming on my 360 or PS3 to get sound.

I guess then I have to figure a way to get the optical audio cable to my PC's sound card that doesn't have an optical in.

    Suggestions? Thanks!

If you dont' plan on doing BD movies then this monitor is a must have, i love it to death. :)
but if you plan on using it to view movies in HD, beware the HDCP problem exists, and it won't do 1080p with HDMI --> DVI.

I use the normal RCA cable plugged-in for sound and only use HDMI cable with the HDMI to DVI converter for the video... and no problems... sound ain't digital but it's ok for now...
