Im am waiting for my third 2001fp.The first two monitors had one stuck-on pixel on each, one green and one red.Do you think that Im being to picky? I know that other people have recieved perfect displays, why shouldnt I ? I realy love this monitor I will keep on serching for the perfect 2001fp. What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance
My question is what are the doing with the monitors that are sent back? Well good luck. I will let you know how it goes with the third one tommorrow, hope you will do the same
If it's just one dead pixel, and not near the center, then it's nothing to complain about, that's common. If you got a new screen with 3 dead pixels, that's just about pushing it, and as long as they don't stand out. But if you got even one in the center of the screen, then I'd call that bad.
But if you have a screen with no backlight problems, but only one bad pixel, then that's not bad at all.
Once the 21 days are up, the warranty kicks in and you have to have something like 5 dead pixels to get a replacment. Not sure if they doing any special cases if they are near or in the center of the screen, as that is different.
I have a 2005fpw that needs to be replaced, due to backlighting problems. Though, it does have 3 bad pixels, but only red and while on a black screen, and even then I have to get real close to notice them, so that doesn't bother me, but just the bad lighting.
The stuck on pixels are right in the center of the display. I have 20/20 vision and I see them pretty good. My point is that why do some people get perfect monitors? isnt there some kind of quality control thing going on with Dell? I noticed the back lighting thing going on but that doesnt bother me as much as the stuck-on pixels. I understand that its hard to produce a perfect monitor but they are out there. and I will keep trying until I get one.
My monitor ( 2nd replacement ) has a blue pixel on a black background about 2 inches from the center and backlight issues in the lower left corner. all my monitors were manufactured in nov 2004. 3rd and final ( i am tired of requesting for replacement and my 21 days is up today ) is coming today.
Am i picky ? or is this to be expected. My prevoius two monitors ( 17" ultrasharp and 19" regular where perfect- no dead pixel or backlight issues )
My 3rd replacement monitor 2001fp has a cluster of 8 white pixels on a black background in the top left hand corner. below theat there was another stuck pixel and on the right side is a stuck pixel. no backlight issues.this monitor was made in nov 2004 and i wonder how it managed to pass quality control as it was clearly defective.
I called dell and explained the problem. they will send a 4th new replacement monitor with a different manufacture date tomorrow. till then i will use the 2nd replacement monitor.UPS will pickup the defective 3rd replacement monitor on thursday.
If other's paid the same for a monitor without dead or stuck pixels and we get a monitor with a stuck pixel, why should we have to pay the same for it, I ask ?
I agree with SR45 100 %. the problem may be a bad batch and untill they run out of it it is pointless asking for another unless they will send a unit from another batch.
In this pic the left screen is a 2+ year old Dell 15inch E151fp. Middle screen is you know who, but a December A00 model. The last on the right is the 15.4inch widescreen Gateway 7405gx laptop, which is a great screen, has a bit of lighting at the bottom, but that's good for a laptop, som can go halfway up. http://premium1.uploadit.org/TimothyB/07_screen.jpg
