Another U2410 DisplayPort Problem

I've recently just started using the Displayport on my U2410, everything has been pretty well, I have previously read about issue where the U2410 wont wake up from sleep mode. I thought I do not have this problem, since my 2410 with DP does wake up from sleep, either from power saving or windows stand by. However I was wrong and recently I've ran into this problem, and have been able to replicate the problem each time, so I was thinking if there is a fix for it. My monitor is one of the first few batch A00 rev. Is this issue fixed on the newer A02 firmware?

I'm using an ATI HD5870 with DP. And I've found out that the DP would work normally under Windows, when I'm on the desktop, browsing or anything, going to sleep mode wont be a problem, and the monitor can wake up normally after. However, If I turn off the monitor by the main switch ( not the monitor on/off switch ), and then turn it on again, the U2410 would not wake up on DP, it just shows entering power save mode message. If I turn of with the monitor on/off switch this problem wont occur. Another situation, is that when I'm running a full screen application. If I'm playing a game, and I turn off the monitor with the monitor on/off switch while the game is still on( without exiting to windows ) When I turn it back on, it will no longer wake up. And to get it working I need to restart my computer.

I want to know if there's a fix for this problem, if I avoid doing the above mentioned actions, it's not that annoying anyway but I wish that there is a fix since it would be pretty troublesome if I happen to accidentally turned off my u2410 while gaming.

Regards,

Sieg

Nope. In both of those cases, your forcing the video card to reinitialize itself with the monitor DP.

so.... is there a fix for this issue?

Or are you saying this is a Graphic Card driver issue instead?

    * If the PC is on and you turn the monitor off, then back on. The monitor does not have the technolgy to reach out to the PC video card and re-do DP. DP initialization always starts on the PC video card end first. The fix is to not turn the monitor off while the PC remains on. Let it go into sleep or use a screensaver. Or, while the PC and monitor are on, disconnect/reconnect the DP cable from the PC. This should re-do the DP connection between the PC and the monitor

    * If you lose DP audio when awakening from sleep or screensaver, while the PC and monitor are on, disconnect/reconnect the DP cable from the PC

I see, this definitely sounds like a design flaw to me if it was done on intention. I think I'll be going back to HDMI for the meanwhile. Thanks for all the replys:emotion-2:

All right, I'm replying to my own thread cause I've have found the cause and the solution to the problem since. I hope this solution would help anyone that is facing displayport problem and did the same thing as I did.

If you've somehow disabled the ATI HotKey Poller service, PLEASE RESTART IT BACK and reboot your computer ( a driver reinstall would do the trick too if you don't know where to start it ). This service is the key to my displayport problem. =.=

I feel like an idiot now T-T. Anyway I hope this helped some ppl that are having the problem too. (and using an ATI graphic card)
