Dell 2001fp Small lines across display

Hello-

I just recieved a Dell 2001fp. Sept 2003 build date.

I have a problem. When using either analog or digital display I have small lines running across my screen. Every pixel row it seems has a little line with it. This may be the "grainyness" that many have been talking about. Either way it doesn't look that great.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this would be? I have a Inspirion laptop and it has no lines in its display so this is annoying to see in the 2001fp which should be a newer panel.

I'm running 1600x1200 32 bit with a Radeon 8500 on win2k.

THanks

I would be unhappy with what you have and would send it back,  NOW !  Please don't let them stall you and try a fix. Others have simular problem and you paid for a very good quailty monitor.  I like the 1901FP monitor or even the 1703FP monitor.

There is a Samsung SyncMaster 173P that is just out, with a 700:1 contrast, a 178 degree viewing angle and the response time is twice as fast as a traditional LCD (unknown what), but the cost for this 17 inch is higher than the 2001fp.

However, please don't let your thirty day return policy run out, send it back if you are not 100% pleased with the monitor.  You look at your monitor the most and you need to be happy with it for a long time.

I believe this is the same grainyness issue that many people are talking about. I am waiting for a response from a Dell mod to explain what the deal is. I.e., is this how it is supposed to be? Is there any fix? etc..

If it were me, I wouldn't be waiting around for a response from Dell. It would be repacked and on its way back!
