Dell 2007WFP makes computer run slower

I just got a 2007wfp monitor and am using it on a Dimenision 2400 with the intergrated video card and now my system is running slower. What can I do ?? Do I need to upgrade to a different video card.

I think I have this right...

Your onboard runs mainly off the CPU and because it has to do a lot more work to display all those extra pixels (I'm assuming you upgraded from a smaller screen :smileywink:) it takes more CPU cycles. I take it this in a normal Windows enviroment (where you can't change the res or effects), so yes, to get that speed back (and some more) you would get a video card which will take practically all that work off the CPU.

Even a cheapo budget card will do this fine.

There is an app that might help you, but do get a new video card, don't forget to turn your chip off in your bios settings.

    Have you defragged lately?
