Since the internet tells me that a new firmware is out for the dell U2410 I would like to know what the changes are in this version. Thank you in advance for the information.
Ok, so if the changes arent hardware related, what changes were made to apply the rev A05 as opposed to A02....surely it wasnt done just to "change number".....there must be some difference between the two.
I have just ordered and recieved a U2410 with A05 revision from the UK - order placed with Dell UK.....
Well it would be quite handy if someone from Dell could explain the differences - things do not get changed for no good reason and a descrptive of what the differences are would be appreciated.
What are the differences? * They will not tell me but my guess is cosmetic changes in the OSD (On Screen Display). Edited on 8/26/11 - * The A03/4/5 were cosmetic changes made in the OSD (On Screen Display). The only hardware changes were made in Revisions A01 and A02.
"Well it would be quite handy if someone from Dell could explain the differences"
* That is not going to happen.
Edited on 8/26/11 - The only two revisions that made hardware changes were A01 and A02. The A03/4/5s your seeing in other regions were given those numbers due to non-hardware OSD (On Screen Display) related cosmetic changes made at the factories in those regions. Dell does not have a Firmware Flash ROM available for download. All changes like that are made at the Factories. All A03/4/5 will have the A02 hardware changes.
Can you say why "its not going to happen"? please. I mean, we as customers have a RIGHT to know what the differences may be between different revisions of said equipment.
If you cannot or will not supply this information, in my eyes, you are not doing a very good job as a Customer Liason Officer.
Engineering has made it very clear, you do not have the right to know what the revision changes were made. Your rights are spelled out in the warranty. If the monitor is defective and still under warranty, you have the right to request a replacement.

My apologies if anyone took offense to my original posts.
Unfortunately, our product engineers have not provided a detailed list of the fixes/changes for these firmware releases. If you are having issues with your current monitor and are within your warranty, you may request a replacement.

Im not blaming anyone....the simple fact is that if we come here for answers to simple questions such as "what are the differences between rev A02 vs A05" etc, we should be afforded those answers without recourse. We should not be told "engineering wont tell you".......thats plain insulting to someone who wants to buy.
Honeslty, I am fed up of Dell and empty promises and falcities.....my next computer system that I spend $4000+ on will NOT be a Dell system.....I can swear by that.

I doubt it. I certainly have not seen any discussion of this.
