Unfortunately, without a Service Tag in your profile, I am unable to access your system specifics.
If you are referring to two very thin gray lines spaced about 1/3 and 2/3 the way down the screen, these are common among monitors that utilize Trinitron tubes. Trinitron monitors use aperture grille technology which is analogous to a vertical grating. Unfortunately, the aperture grille distorts with heat buildup from normal usage of the monitor (heat due to electrons impinging on the aperture grille). Therefore, a horizontal wire (one for 15" and smaller monitors, two for larger monitors) is strung across the aperture grille, which stabilizes the aperture grille as it heats up and prevents image distortion. The line that you are seeing is the shadow cast by the horizontal wire.
