P2314H, connect with Mac Mini 2?
Hello,
I tried to connect a new mac mini with HDMI to VGA then to Display port but isn't recognized. Please help!
Previously I used an adapter with a HDMI to VGA to connect my Surface 7 with success.

Does this mean I have to upgrade to a newer monitor? There is no adapters to solve this problem?

Not sure until you provide =
List all of the video OUT ports on the Mac Mini.
List all of the video OUT ports on the Surface.

The 11 year old P2314H has the following video IN ports = DP/DVI/VGA
A source PC HDMI out port cannot "upgrade" to a monitor DP in port.
VGA can never "upgrade" to a monitor DP in port.
List all of the video OUT ports on the Mac Mini.
List all of the video OUT ports on the Surface.
