My U2410 monitor fails to apply custom sharpness settings for each individual input. Instead, the sharpness setting most recently entered in the Display Properties menu is simply applied to all inputs from that point forth, and will stay that way until the setting is changed. It’s important to note that when I double-check the sharpness setting for each input, they “appear” to have been remembered correctly in the menu, but those settings are not actually being applied.
Example: 1) While in DVI, set the sharpness to “100”. 2) Switch to another input. Set the sharpness to “0” 3) Switch back to DVI. The picture is now blurry, but the menu’s sharpness setting still reads “100”. 4) All inputs will now have an actual sharpness of “0”, regardless of what the menu says, until it’s changed again.
The reason this matters to me, is that I need to use the Component video connection from my digital TV box, and I’ve discovered that the only way to deal with the U2410’s horrible analog quality is to set the sharpness to “0”, which eliminates most of the noise. But if I do that, I have to change the sharpness back to “50” every time I switch back to DVI or HDMI..... and back to "0" again to watch TV, etc. etc.
Could other U2410 owners out there do me a favour and check to see if their monitor exhibits the same flaw?
I have the same problem as Limberlost. I have a PC connected via DVI and a Mac mini connected via HDMI. Whenever I switch from the PC to the Mac, everything looks sharp and jagged. When I go from Mac to PC, Windows looks blurry.
Like he said, the sharpness appears to be changed in the options menu but it doesn't apply itself to the screen. I have to manually go in to the settings EVERY TIME I switch inputs to "wake up" the sharpness.
This is not acceptable. I've searched Dell's site for a firmware update, but to no avail. Is there a fix for this issue, or am I out $550?

This feature is on all the U2410s. Anytime you change the Sharpness on one input, you must manually reset the Sharpness for other inputs.
