U2715H entering powersave mode

Hi,

I've got an issue with a relatively new U2715H.  It was working fine, though I now can't get a signal from my desktop (Windows 8.1, Nvidia 670GTX, latest drivers).

I've tested with my laptop (mini DP) and monitor (DP) and it works ok.

However, on my desktop, I get the "Entering Powersave Mode" when I try to connect to it.  I've tried HDMI (both ports) and DVI to DP.  I've done a factory reset, though can't get any signal from my desktop on it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mt

    * The computer and monitor are on
    * Press the monitor Menu button to open the OSD (On Screen Display). Does it open?
    * If yes, go to Input Source
    * Try to select using both HDMI (MHL), one at a time

    * Get it exchanged. The replacement will be refurbished if outside of the first 30 days from the Dell invoice date
    * Go back to the top of this Monitor Forum
    * Open "FAQ Monitor"
    * Open "Monitor warranties and replacement instructions"

Clarify, what video out ports are on the Nvidia GTX 670?

Hi Chris, thanks for the reply.

The video card has 1 HDMI and 2 DVI.  I've tried all 3 ports on another monitor and there isn't any issue.

The video card DVI ports cannot upconvert to the monitor DP/mDP via a straight cable (DVI to DP cable). Those cables are designed to downconvert from video card DP to monitor DVI. Your only option is to connect in this way =

Computer video card HDMI out --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> U2715H HDMI in

    Hi Chris,

Thanks good to know.  I get the same going into sleep mode when I try HDMI to HDMI.

    Hi Chris,

When connected to HDMI, I can get the input source menu though not the full OSD (when I connect via mDP from my laptop, I can get the full OSD, and have done a factory reset).

I've tried going through all the input source options.  When connected to HDMI, I immediately get the "Entering Powersave Mode" message.  When I try the other inputs, I get the "No XX Cable" message (as I'd expect).  I've tried connecting the cable from HDMI computer to both HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 on the monitor with the same results.  Whichever port the cable is connected to immediately goes to "Entering Powersave Mode".

I'm having the same issue with a brand new U2715H. Is the only solution to return/exchange it?

    Thanks,

    Tim

If you did all the troubleshooting listed above, then yes. Use the instructions in my previous post to get it exchanged.
