Incremental Clones

Hi,

I am trying to complete an 'incremental clone'. Let me explain our setup.

We are going to be moving to archiving to disk using DiskBackup. I also want to clone this to tape in case of fire etc.

So on Monday I want to clone from the archived disk to a tape called 'MondayClone'. Then that will get sent offsite and the Tuesday's is 'Tuesday Clone' etc. When we get back to the following Monday and we have the MondayClone tape back, I don't want to have to clone all the archives from scratch, I either want to just append the past 24hours or last weeks archive onto this tape, or just to take a clone of what is already archived, but without having to start the clone from scratch.

I am using Networker 7.6 SP1 and was playing around with the clone scheduling. This almost works a treat. It clones anything that has been backed up in the 'Archive' pool in the last x days into my 'Archive Clone' pool. If I have a newly labelled tape in my library it clones this perfectly. However a tape that already has a clone done from before, it doesn't want to know and asks for a new tape to be labelled.

Any ideas would much apprecirated!

Cheers,

Marc

Did you make inventory of library when tape was brought back to library?

    Marc,

If in case the clone tape has a copy of a saveset that yu are trying to clone again, then it is not possible. Also, check if the tape on which you want to send the clone to is Full or in Appendable state.

    HTH,

    Rovin.
