legato networker 7.6

Hi everyone!

There  is some functionality in legato networker 7.6 that allows you to remove the  files from the local disk ( client ) after running a backup in a tape media?

Maybe, you need use the savepnpc command,

make a script and put the script path  inside of the archive "groupname.res"

check the NW Admin Guide on page 90. (savepnpc command with a customized backup program)

    Hi Sarah,

As CLEX described you can use a script that removes the files you need by using the savepnpc command.

In addition to CLEX's comment , You can check also the following Powerlink solution regarding how to configure savepnpc command:

    http://solutions.emc.com/EMCSolutionView.asp?id=esg52841&usertype=C

Of course this is in addition to the admin guide.

Hope that this information helped you.

    Thanks,

    What is about archiving?

With archiving you can store data on tape, verify the data, clone tapes and remove the data from local disk.

The only downer is: You have to buy a license. But have a look an it.

You are right Peter, That is another solution, And as you said you had to buy a license.

    Totally agreed with you.

Sarah you have to decide what is suitable for you and your needs to specify the best solution for your issue.

    Thanks,
