MAC OS X Open Directory Backup

I'm from a Microsoft background (yeah,yeah I know) and am floundering with a DR solution for my MAC OS X.

The Networker Admin Guide suggests the use of a 'savegroup'.res file on the MAC to assist in the backup of the Open Directory.

I get an error when I use one, the error is: slapcat: bad configuration file!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can edit this file to stop the errors?
Do I even need this file to capture a backup that can be used for a DR recovery?

I'm backing up the All saveset.
sacegroup.res file:
savepnpc;
precmd: "/usr/sbin/slapcat -l /var/backups/networker.ldif; /usr/bin/nidump -r / . > /var/backups/networker.nidump";
pstcmd: "echo bye";
timeout: "17:00pm";
abort precmd with group: Yes;

Any help is appreciated!

    What happens if you change your precmd file with single file which calls the line you listed above? So, for start I would change precmd to look like:

    precmd: /path/foo.bar

    where foo.bar would call:

    /usr/sbin/slapcat -l /var/backups/networker.ldif
    /usr/bin/nidump -r / .

    For start I would start this without didump part just to make sure that it works - you can add that part later.

    I have no clue about MacOS and above assumtion is based on UNIX/Wintel experience.

    Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
    EMC came onsite and advised that a manual rebuild of our MAC would be as fast as an open directory restore. As our MAC only has a couple of apps we're going to go with that. Thanks
