Networker MSSQL Module V.5.0 schedual backup

dears,

I have the following Environment:

- Windows 2003 Server standard edition.
- Sql Server 2000 SP4.
- Networker Server 7.3.
- and MSSQL Ver. 5.0.

Im trying to configure MSSQL module to run schedual Backup i configured the Resource as the following:

1- Resorce Name: The FQDN of the SQL server.
2- the Save Set : MSSQL :
3- In the Apps & Modules _ the Backup Command : nsrsqlsv

Of course i added the Client to a group and the Schedual, and the group configuration is ok because there are other clients and resourses configured that are running ok.

But i have two problems:

1- when i run the permission wizard on the SQL server it dosent view any objects.
2- The schedualed Backup when i run it from the Networker server, gives me the following error while running the backup from the client works fine

1 retry attempted
[972] 08/21/07 04:39:01 Microsoft SQL Server Provider error:
[972] 08/21/07 04:39:01 [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied..
[972] 08/21/07 04:39:01
Cannot login to SQL Server null.

in the apps module i tried adding the user and password for the domain admin as follows:

user : Domain\administrator
password : admin password

still this didnt help please advise this is urgently needed.

Is that user part of SQL admin group? Also, have you tried to run SQL backup GUI as SQL admin? Does such backup run?

    Dear,

for your first question , yes i am using mixed authentcation mode on my SQL and the domain account has system admin assigned to it in the SQL server.

for your second question, i dont know if u mean by the SQL GUI the GUI for the MSSQL client module or the SQL native backup utility but i checked both and both of them are running fine.

now i changed the user and password of the Access in the apps & module to
user : SA and his password. and the error changed to the following " Probe job had unrecoverable failure(s) " . and i also found out that the same error " srever dosent exist or acces is denied" also appears when i try to export data to the SQL srever.

    hopes that this helps.

Can you explain what do you mean by "when you try to export data"? Does it mean when you do dump or...?

To me this sounds as permission issue... already mentioned permission wizard weirdness seems to indicate that too. If you follow wizard advice manually do you get different picture?

yes i mean the SQL data base import / export wizard .

regarding the permission wizard i know thats the place to start but the manual is not that descriptive and it should be straight forward. do i have to do any settings on the SQL server before i begin the MSSQL configuration?

when we've run into this problem, it's because the SQL admins have removed a lot of SQL logins, and I have to ask them for a specific name/userid and password.

It sounds like you already have verified that the other name and password were SQL admins - how about trying your own personal userid, or setup a test id that's not part of a domain - such as the SA userid using this format:

    nsrsqlsv -U sa -P password
