We are a hosting provider, recently invest in a new backup solution based upon Networker and Data Domain.
After various tests, we have now understood that Networker relies heavly on forward and reverse DNS for accessing clients. This is something we feel is okay for our physical environment, but a bit strange and unnecessary for running backup of the virtual environment.
Networker should in my opinion be able to get all the information it needs for backup of a virtual machines directly from vCenter, and forward and reverse DNS in my opinion is totally meaningless related to backups running through the VADP proxy.

Is this a "feature" you can disable?
