NW763 & VMware
Hi all,I need to automatically add auto-discovered vm to a NW Datazone, since I have an increase of about 100 mv per day. I'd like put them in a "repository group" .
some ideas?
thx in advance

thank you for the answer
my goal is auto-VMs_discovered-adding in a "repository group". Where NW put VMs-list after the auto-discovery? Has only the VC this list?

You can enable auto-discovery for your vcenter > Virtualization
Added VMs are discovered but not automatically added to your backup environment (client, group).
You have to add them manually to your backup environment

I think you have to do this with a script.
Do I understand you right?
You want that the newly made VMs are discovered and added to a backup group ind your Datazone?

If you want to add a client for vadp backup you'll need many more opttions :-) Here the information for one VM which is backed up in my testing environment

withing the NSR hypervisor resource you can switch on that hidden options are shown:
vm list (read only, hidden)
This attribute contains names of the virtual machines found dur-
ing the last execution of the discovery command.
http://nsrd.moab.be/nwcr/nsr_hypervisor.html
So this list contains all VM Names (as shown in vCenter - vSphere Client) which were found during last discovery run
I think this list is not the best way to fullfill the requirement of auto-adding VM to your backup datazone, because not only new VMs are shown in that list.

You can use nsradmin to print the vm list of these machines which were discovered during last run:
nsradmin> . type:NSR hypervisor
Current query set
nsradmin> option hidden
Hidden display option turned on
...
nsradmin> show vm list
nsradmin> print
Then you'll get the list of the discovered VMs
In order to add the clients you need the VM-Name which is shown in the vm autodiscovered list and teh fqdn/shortname of the client for the clientname
