Oracle, NMDA and incremental forever ?

Hello group,

I'm in need of some clarifications here, can you tell me if there is a way to implement a "forever incremental" strategy on Networker 8 (could be upgraded to 9) for Oracle 11g ?

Target is a Data Domain, NMDA installed on the Linux host.

If I understand correctly, Networker implement Oracle Block Change Tracking through RMAN for incrementals backups. Although, Oracle mention a limit of eight bitmaps files (change file index) in its documents.

Does Networker allow more than this limit somehow ? I'm lost.

Thank you.

The backup level in Oracle backups is controlled in the RMAN script. NetWorker does not have control on the type of backups for Oracle.

What  would be the best way to avoid FULL backup as often as possible ?

Experienced DBAs and backup admins do not run away from full backups
