Referenced object does not exsist

Hi all,

One of my customers is getting this strange error in 7.6.2 when he use the client wizard. When you reach to the "Specify the Client Backup Options" in the Client wizard and choose next Networkr pop up with the following Error "Referenced object does not exsist" (See attached file also)

The strange thing is that I can use the Client Wizard without any problems on Filesystem clients but it fails when I want to configere and MSSQL backup on the same client.

Anybody have any idea what might cause this. It's the latest client and NMSQL module running on the client.

It also looks like this is only related on x64 clients

    Hi,

It looks like this is a known issue with NMSQL.  I paste here the details of our Knowledgebase article on this.  The article itself will be viewable only in a few hours from now (http://solutions.emc.com/EMCSolutionView.asp?id=esg116864&usertype=C)

    Fact

    SQL 2008

    NMSQL 5.2.1 b299

    NW 7.6.1

    Symptoms

Error while creating an SQL Client instance using Client Configuration  Wizard

    "Referenced object does not  exist"

    Cause

Client Wizard uses SQL-DMO to communicate with SQL Server.

It used to be part of the SQL Server package before.  However, with SQL  Server 2008, it was split out into a separate feature pack.

So to use Client Wizard for SQL Server 2008 we have to install SQL-DMO  separately.

    Resolution

SQL Server 2008: Install SQL-DMO separately from Microsoft SQL Server 2005  Backward Compatibility Components.

    Hi Bobby,

Thanks for your reply. Is there a reason this is not posted on Powerlink?

I will have the customer provide his SQL with the SQL-DMO to see if it should resolve the issue. I will get back to you

You're welcome.  The article was incorrectly set to internal-only. I've modified that now and it is viewable using the above link.

    Hi Bobby,

My customer installed the SQL-DMO but he is still seeing the same error. What to do?
