Hey there
I've been struggling with this a bit.
I'm trying to set a login password on my switch when someone is connected via the serial/console cable.
I've got SSH working but not for serial/console cable.
Ideally no matter how anyone connects I'd like to set a login request.
Can anyone help me with this one?

Which OS version are you using? I think if you change the AAA authentication for console you can get it to ask for a password. Page 1132 https://dell.to/36Er0NP

I'm using ver9.13
I did eventually figure it out, i was looking for
---aaa authentication login default local line---
I can't tell you how many different combinations i tried of that line to get the correct one.
