About the wireless problems

Hello

I just got a new Inspiron 6000 and when I ordered it I opted out of the Internel wireless card. I got a Belkin pre-n card too put in it and have been amazed at the speed, reliability, and the distance I can access wireless points.

So for all those that are having problems or if your going to order a new laptop, definatly take this route, you won't be dissapointed.

Well in my case I also purchased a Belkin pre-n wireless router for my home so am good to go there. Don't let the previous post scare you off, definately get one. It connects with everything out there, doesn't matter whether its n or not. Plus, can we say firmware upgrades? I knew you could....

I'd advise people to wait on the n stuff until there's at least a draft standard (much less a final version).  Unless you don't care if you're stuff won't be able to work with real n products when they become available, wait.

there are two fundamentally different "n" products right now ... one (or something resembling one) of them will likely be the basis for the 802.11n draft and finalized standard.  this means one technology will be effectively dead.  whether the other (the winner) will be able to be firmware upgradable will also be questionable, depending on how many compromises are made.
