Getting Kicked

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R but occasionally, more often now then ever, my virgin super hub 2 is dropping connection and then I can't join it again without restarting my pc, before u say it, I HAVE updated my drivers.

    Hi,

First, update your drivers....  just kidding, I couldn't resist.  Sorry.  :)

Does your 15R drop connections on other wireless hotspots or networks?   I'd like to define whether the issue is solely between the laptop and the super hub.  Do other devices have the same results when accessing that hub?

Can you update, or have you updated, the firmware on that hub?  And have you rebooted the hub as well?  If so, does that help alleviate the problem even for a little while?

I would recommend you check out our Networking and Wireless Support Center for other ideas on what you can try to resolve the problem.  You may also want to take a look at removing your wireless profiles on that system, and then letting Windows rebuild them.  It could be that the wireless profile has become corrupted and needs to be cleared up.  That specific article is for Windows 7 but if you are running Win8 you can find other articles with a simple google search.

Try and answer those questions I posted above, and check out the Support Center I linked as well.  Let me know if any of it helps of if you're still experiencing problems.

    Todd

Just spent about an hour or more on this forum wasting my time looking for an answer to this simple problem 'computer drops connection if left for a period of time without interaction by the user' and then not being able to reconnect unless you reboot, which is just plain annoying when you are relying on your computer to update data, emails and the like.

The solution:  Go into Control Panel, open your Network Connection, right click the Connection, Properties, click the Networking Tab, Configure, Power Management, clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box, and then click OK.

Problem solved.  Why do they make life so difficult ! ! !

I stand corrected, this has not solved the problem, it returned the next day.
