Help! Can't connect multiple computers to home wireless network

My fiancee and I just moved into a new apartment that already had a wireless network in place. After some bumps and bruises, I finally got my computer to connect to the network with some regularity. But for some reason I'm still unable to get hers. It says that it's connected with Excellent signal strength, but no pages load.

Her computer is an Inspiron 600m with a TrueMobile 1300 WLAN MiniPCI Card. (Mine is a Fujitsu Lifebook with an Intersil PRISM card, if that helps). The router is a Belkin F5D7230-4, and our ISP is Earthlink (via Time Warner Cable). The network has WEP data encryption.

I've tried updating her wireless driver, with no success. What else should I be checking?

Thanks!

Well, that was how the owner of the apartment had it set up when we moved in. How do I disable WEP encryption?

    Thanks.

Temporarily disable WEP encryption on the router and see if you can connect.  If you can, then you know there is some problem with the WEP encryption.   Is there a reason you are using the easily broken and much less secure WEP encryption instead of the much more secure WPA encryption?

You should be able to enable/disable encryption and/or change the encryption scheme by logging onto the routers configuration page through a computer connected to the router by a wired ethernet connection.  The manual for your router is at:

Nope, doesn't look like that was the problem. I disabled the WEP encryption and got the same result -- Excellent signal strength, but no connection. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

Check the router configuration again and see if it is set to limit the number of IP addresses it can assign.  If you have more computers trying to connect than the original owner had set it up for, then that could also explain why you can't connect.

    1> goto network connections.
2> rt click Wireless network.... select properties.
3> In the box select Internet protocol TCP/IP.. then click properties below.
4> Check if the obtain IP address and DNS are checked.
    5> If not select them.

    Temme what happened....

Nope, that's not it. Both are already set to obtain automatically.

Any more suggestions about this issue? I've tried everything and still can't get the second computer to work.

Just reset the router to its default configuration (press and hold the reset button on the back of the router for 10 seconds while the router is powered on).  Then, turn everything off.  Wait five minutes, power on the modem, wait a few more minutes, then power on the router and finally the computers.  See if that fixes it.
