Problem Installing Novell Client on XP SP2

We have just purchased a dimension 2400 and I am trying to install the Novell client 4.9 SP1 or Novell client 4.9 SP1. (downloaded from novell.
When trying to install the client on this machine I get a DOS window asking if I want to install the client (on Novel 4.9 SP1) or just a blank DOS window (with Novell 4.9 SP2) which then disappears and nothing happens.
The machine is running XP SP2 and also Norton Internet Security 2004 (v7.0.6.17).

I have also tried to install the novell client within windows (LOCAL AREA CONNECTION ¦ PORPERTIES ¦ GENERAL ¦ INSTALL) and have managed to install the Protocol for Netware (which is running on our server) but there is no client available.
Is the client on the support disc somewhere as I cannot find it?
We have previously bought Optiplex's and have had no problems installing this client on those but they didn't have XP SP2 installed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have just realised something that may be pertinent to this problem.

The new DELL is using Windows XP Home (not Pro).

Could this be part of the problem ?

Probably so since the networking capabilities of Home are somewhat reduced when compared to XP Pro, particularly in joining a Domain, it can't happen.
