Replacing Wireless card in E1705

I made an error in configuring my E1705. I have the Netgear Draft N wireless router (from Dell), but the wireless card in the laptop is the Pro/Wireless 3945 802.11 a/g Minicard.

Can I get from Dell and can I replace the existing card with the correct card which I assume is the 1500 internal PCI card?
If I do replace it, will my computer still be under warrenty?

There have been numerous problems with incompatibily reported between the 1500 and some routers (Draft-N is not a widely accepted standard).  Are you sure you want to do this.  I doubt that Dell will swap it out without charging you because you received what you ordered.  Replacing the network adapter will not void your warranty.

    Thanks for info.

I assumed I'd have to pay for the new PCM wireless card. I was hoping to replace it myself. I've never opened up a laptop before (though I've done major surgery on multiple desktops), and have been unable to find instructions on how to get to the innards of the laptop.

What kind of problems can I expect with the Draft N router and card?

What kind of problems can I expect with the Draft N router and card?  Spend some time reading this forum.  There are plenty of threads.

The Mini Card slot is in a door on the bottom of your computer.  See the following:
