Switching between wired/wireless

May be a dumb question, or one who's answer will be obvious when we get the machine, but I'm going to ask it anyway.....

My son is off to college in the fall, and we just yesterday ordered him an I8600. XP Pro installed. It has the integrated 10/100 ethernet port and a wireless card.

In the dorms, he will be using it 'wired' - pluged into the 'ResNet' wired system. Other places on campus have wireless access.

How will he switch back and forth between the wired and wireless network cards?

Yea its very easy to switch back and forth between wired and wireless.  They both have different configurations so they will not have a conflict with both not both not connected at the sametime.

He would have to go into the network configuration screen in the start menu

Actually, not even that. Just leave both connections active, and the system will use whichever is available.

Fn + F2 on the keyboard should do it (turns Wi-Fi on & off).
