Wireless Connx Not Working

i am having a huge problem w/my Mini Inspiron 10 (Windows XP) wireless connx not working.  i tried feverishly to communicate with the overseas reps 3-4 times to no avail.  i did troubleshoot on my own to Dell's Site for Tech Suppport and have narrowed down to the wireless network adapter.  i have to use another home computer because i am unable to make or keep any internet connection.  ANybody have any ideas because my Mini is still under warranty?

    AtruDiva,

What version of XP do you have on the Mini 10?

What type of security are you using on your network?

In device manager, did you try changing the Antenna Diversity from Auto to Aux?

    AtruDiva,

Make sure the wireless is turned on. Press F2.

    1)  How do i figure out which version of Windows XP is on my Mini 10?

Start, control panel, system. It should be listed there.

Go to device manager(right click my computer, left click properties, left click hardware, left click device manager) Under network, you should be able to see the adapter you're using. Double click on it, click advanced, then se;ect antenna diversity.

It tries to connect as it has been for the past few weeks---can't seem to get a vaid IP address.

    AtruDiva,

The article says you need to remove SP3 in order to be able to uninstall IE8. Sounds like a little process.

    AtruDiva,

Using any tpe of peer to peer programs?

Try using WinSock XP Fix and see if this correct the connection.

Finally---i was lucky enough to snag a signal from the church next door to me which is way weaker than mine.  Now it says that it is connected but i keep getting that stupid error msg---Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage---diagnose connx problems.  Have followed it step by step---still can't get online!
