I meant without any other computer. I just want to connect using my dial up account without needing to put the phone line into the laptop....and without needing other computer.

You'd need the Actiontec dual computer modem the last post talks about.  Then you'd need a wireless access point to connect wirelessly.  It would be about the same as getting the external modem/router I mentioned.

This is simple. Get a router with a serial port (i.e. SMC Barricade 7004) and put an external modem on it. Then connect your wireless access point to that router. I had this exact configuration until recently because there was no highspeed service in my area. I think the Barricade costs about $40 and modems are dirt cheap.
