Won't Take IP Address from DHCP

Please help, and thanks:

Can't connect to the internet. The network connection status shows that the system does not accept the IP provided by the DHCP server. All other settings match another working PC.

What other thing could I consider? Thanks,

Paul

Which version of Windows are you running? What device is providing the DHCP services (modem/router)? What is the exact text of any error message you get?

    Steve,

Thanks anyway.  I used HiJack This and found an entry relating to a missing dll for the TCP/IP socket.  I checked "repair" and the problem is now fixed.
