7010 pcie
Hello
I have a 7010 MT. And I can't get anything to work in the second or black pcie x 16 slot. At all. The bios has been updated. I've tried a I7 3770 and a Xeon E3 1275. Both no no avail. I am trying to use both fir sas x8 cards for 16 total data drives fir a home lab. I can have one in the top or blue one. But anything at all in the black one and I loose all sata drives in the board. I'm at a loss and need help.

Not sure what fifircation has to do with 2 different pcie slot, but, if its engineered that way. Then I guess that was smart....
PCIe bifurcation refers to splitting PCIe Bus into 2 or more with smaller lane width as in X16 into
2X X8 smaller lane width.
Some Precision Workstation models have that.

cant use slots that way your chipset does not have pci-e bifrucation and the blue slot is VIDEO only.
What you are trying will NEVER work.
