990, not booting

At first the computer had an error message stating the I/O cable failed. I unplugged the cable and reinserted it. That fixed the problem there but now it is saying there is no hard drive found.

    the desktop  has hDD

and 2 cables one is data (sata) and other is power.

if either cable is bad the HDD will  tests bad.

if the cables are good and the HDD tests bad then the HDD is bad.

any PC over 5 years old  needs to run this, (on newer PCs even w10 runs smart tests in the background)

we run full smart tests on all SATA drives from year 2001 to now, 18 years, now the magic smart test save the day.

the newer dells have ePSA test,  run that IN BIOS.

then turn on the "Through"  mode HDD Test, there, if the HDD is bad, then it must be replaced and fresh OS applied.

The Data Cable attached is black or blue with SATA port 0 blue.

Unless this is a refirb that doesn't actually have original parts.

The Optical drive in these is Orange.

Cable is a long shot. There are no soft fixes for physically bad drive.
