I have a 2nd hand optiplex 9020 from 2014. The first failure was : no bootable device found. i checked the SSD via USB on a 2nd PC, it was ok. Return the SSD to the Optiplex and run Dell selftest, it was ok too. I make a USB Win 10 Install Stick and try the repair function. I thougt the MBR is fault and try to repair it using explanations from the internet. All failt and now nothing go, no BIOS, no prompt nothing else. I replaced the CR2032 battery, which had 0.5V. It is possible to restore the BIOS and install Win 10 on a new SSD? Answers in english or german, kindly regards
Re: It is possible to restore the BIOS and install Win 10 on a new SSD
enter bios by press F2, select reset to default at bottom, click yes. prepare a bootable USB media by using Microsoft Win 10 media creation tool. boot 9020 from that USB, then do a clean install (not repair) of Win 10 on the ssd.
I had it try with the USB stick for Win 10 install, but it failed, I don`t can open the BIOS with F2 or F12, I think it was lost, because the empty battery. I also tried the BIOS recovery with Esc +Cntrl key, it failed too. When I try to repair The SSD I deletet the MBR to restore it, but it was not possible to restore it. Now I have bought another used optiplex 9020 to install a SSD and to recover the BIOS.

9020 supports sata 2.5" ssd only.
