PowerEdge 2850 wrong RAM
We have bought PowerEdge 2850 system that came with 1GB R1 type of RAM (two 512MB sticks). Then we ordered 3GB additional RAM and we received R2 type of RAM (two 1GB stick and two 512MB sticks). It was confirmed that you can not mix and match both of these RAM types. It was also confirmed that Dell production is using R1 type of RAM and if you want to buy additional RAM later, they will send you R2 type. What is amazing that none of the sale people know what this really means nor understand that this causes a major problems.
It has been over (6) weeks that we are waiting Dell to fix this problem. Does anyone know how we can contact with higher management to resolve this problem? I have been talking to and communicating with (8) people from sales department to customer service department and every time the same results - NOTHING!
I will appreciate if someone can give me some pointers to find out how we can correct this problem or any contact that you may have within Dell that may want to listen.

I empathize with your situation. Unfortunately for Dell if this is the way they treat customers
I can only assume you won't do business with them in the future.
My advice is to return the memory and look elsewhere.
