I’m looking at configuration of some new poweredge 2950s and am would like some advice on the processor config please.

O/S will be Windows Server 2003 SP1, but an unsure whether to run 1x dual core, 2x dual core or a quad core xeon?    I’ve looked on the MS site as to whether W2K3 sp1 supports more than 2 way symmetric multiprocessing, but one area says it does, and another says this is only supported in R2…….so just want to know what the best config is for W2K3 sp1.
