Would you confirm the setting for the AC recovery mode is in the Security Settings in the BIOS. Also, one thing that could be causing this is if the Wake On Lan is set in the Networking BIOS (CTRL-S at Ctrl-S prompt on startup) From there let me know if Wake on Lan is enabled or not.

Another thing to try is to also bypass any UPS/APC the server is plugged into as well.

Hi Chris, thanks for trying to help me. I do not see the CTRL-S prompt when I try to boot up.

I only see the CTRL-C for the H200 and the CTRL-E for the IDRAC settings.

What should I do?

Just for future reference and if anyone else is having the same issue.

Turns out my iDRAC module was faulty.

I changed out the iDRAC module for another one and the server stays off and does not power back on automatically any longer.

I'm having the same problem with the T410.... I've already removed the iDrac and it still turns on by itself.

I've already removed the power supplies and tested each one individually, but the problem persists.

I've also checked the Wake On Lan settings mentioned above, but that didn't solve the problem either.

Any other suggestions?

I would start with updating the server to current on BIOS, iDrac, raid controller, etc. I also would like to confirm a couple things with you.

Do you have another iDrac you can swap out with the original to test with? 

Are you seeing anything in the SEL or Lifecycle logs?

Have you tried taking the server to its minimum to post configuration to see if it still occurs under that setup?

 

Minimum to post for the T410 is

•System board
•CPU1 (Min for troubleshooting)
•Heatsink for CPU1 for prevention of over-heating
•One memory DIMM in DIMM A1 for CPU1.
•Power Supply (PDB is required for redundant PSU)
•Control Panel

The server is properly updated (BIOS, iDrac, RAID controller).

Regarding the iDrac, I have already tested it without it, but the problem persists.

I tested with the minimum hardware required but the problem still persists.

Could it be the BIOS battery?

The battery simply retains the BIOS settings, and shouldn't cause the server to reboot. Do you happen to have an additional T410 we could swap the board with for testing?
