Hi all I’ve recently changed my servers motherboard however the board is in a different chassis to the original is there any way to transfer the physical service tag on the chassis (one on the little sliding out bit of plastic) to the new chassis so it matches the motherboard
Boot the system using the DOS-Based Diagnostic Tools (Dell 11G servers)
The Customer Diagnostic Menu Ver 1.6 is displayed.
At the Enter option or letter prompt, press <4>.
The MS-DOS prompt is displayed.
Type c:, and press <Enter>.
The working drive changes to c:\.
Type CD Util, and press <Enter>.
The working directory changes to c:\Util.
Type asset new_asset_tag ####### or service new_service_tag ####### , where new_asset_tag or new_service_tag is the tag you want to assign to the system. Set both asset and service tag the same (Your service tag).
It depends on what server you are having, I may need to try look for the component the pull-out tag is attached to. Say example, PowerEdge R740, the pull out tag is attached to the left control panel ear, hence you will need to remove the entire left ear, user guide for reference: https://dell.to/462FVQs

Hi,
Unfortunately, the LiveCD is only compatible with servers, you can refer to the user guide here for the matrix page 5: http://del.ly/612190s3d1
If you need help, you probably can post in the Optiplex board for any suggestions on other bootable ISO: http://del.ly/612100s3dG
