Additional Disk on System
Hi,
I just installed Windows 2008 on my Dell Poweredge R310 using one Hard disk only that I've configured through RAID management. Now after installation, I want to add another physical hard disk to serve as additional drive on my windows OS to serve as a simple storage for any files (Drive D:).
Do I need to go through Raid Configuration again?
what will I choose, Import Foreign or Clear configuration at the promp?
I am afraid maybe I will lose the data on my previous disk and Install the OS again from the start.
If anyone can suggest steps to do this I would really appreciate it.

Yes OpenManage Server Admin (OMSA) is run from within the OS.

I think i have H700 System, here's the picture of my system..
Where can I download or access this OpenManage software?
If this is downloadable, after I download, can I access or run this OpenMange on Windows 2008 desktop?

Winston,
One thing I must know is the controller installed in the server.
If you have a H700 then YES you can. It is referred to as a Raid Level Migration. It is as easy as doing a Reconfigure from OpenManage and then selecting the disk you wish to add.
Now if you have an H200 or SAS6/iR then Raid Level Migration is not an option and the only way to do this would be to recreate the array.
Now if you have the H700 then as I stated you go through OpenManage and do a Reconfigure. The data should be fine, but we always suggest backing up the data prior to doing anything within the controller. Just in case.
